Maintaining and new jeans!

Happy summer!!! After a week of holiday festivities, and TRYING really hard to stick to my plan but not always resisting the treats, I was happy to see that my weight is at least maintaining, and NO weight gain. While I was in Salt Lake, I went shopping with my daughter Serena, and I was thrilled to find I could fit into size 14 Gap jeans!!! They had an awesome deal and we both got some for only $13.99 a pair! Wow...I just may get down to a size 12 after all!!!

My BMI is FINALLY only in the overweight range. I am NO LONGER "obese." YAY!!! The scale is starting to stick at 189.

My goals for May

Nothing fancy, I would just like to be in the 180's. I bought myself a Wii Fit a couple weeks ago and I still haven't taken it out of the box. Fear of new things. I do need to incorporate exercise, the Wii looked fun. Gotta do it.
Goal #1- Lose into te 180's by June 1.
Goal #2- Wii Fit at least 3 times a week, starting this week.

2 Points!

I recently learned about a woman who had lost 212 pounds (!!!) in 2 years and has kept it off for the last 5 years!!! You can meet her on her website, http://www.kimbensen.com/. She's my new hero!!! Anyway, I also happened to find a You Tube of her doing a cooking show, making this wonderfully easy, REALLY GOOD dessert, and it's only 2 points per serving, 1/8 of the cake! This photo is the one we made for Mattea's birthday, and hopefully the You Tube below it will show you how to make it. YUMMM!!!

Who, me? Exercise?

Well...the Weight Watchers website has been promoting starting a walking or running team to train for a 5K walk/run. So I went to their website and signed up as a team of one. I really was just looking for an idea for a fun way to exercie, since I'd really rather not... They offered a free 8-week plan so I went ahead and signed up...and before I knew it, I was looking for a 5K to commit to. So hopefully one day this week I will be headed to Albuquerque to fill out an application. It's called the Cherry Garcia Run and takes place in Albquerque on June 28, 2009. Let me tell you, if it happens it will be a "first" for this 51-year-old un-athletic grandma...

18 again!

It's official! 20 pounds gone and all my size 22W jeans were falling off big time. So I went to Walmart today and bought some real live Levi's from the REGULAR section, size 18 REGULAR!!! I put them on easily, tucked my t-shirt in, and left all the tags on so I could dance around the living room. WAHOO!!!!!

Easter candy...


How easy is it to consume just one jelly bean...twenty or so times in one day...? Interspersed with just one little Dove chocolate egg...3 or 4 times? I didn't preplan enough so now I am stocked up on my sugar-free Russell Stover's individually wrapped portion controlled CHOCOLATE!!! (Actually, I didn't do too bad, considering...and I did log and deduct points for the snitches that I took...) Dinner was lean ham, boiled potatoes and red cabbage, YUM and low points. And a plug for "Over the Moon" brand of milk. It comes in half-gallon cartons and they have fat-free and 1%. It has about 10 calories more than regular milk but they add extra milk protein and calcium and that makes it taste WAY better than regular fat-free milk. I am a convert!

199!!!

I did it!!! The scale finally got rid of that first stubborn 2!!! I weighed in this afternoon at a slim and trim 199!!! Still a ways to go yet, but I am pleased with the progress so far.

Still here, still OP, still losing!!!

I've been lax about posting here...not sure why. But I've been able to stick with my online Weight Watchers program for a month and a half now and it's going great! My weight is fluctuating between 200 and 202 but always on weigh-in days it's the highest of course! I am anxiously awaiting the day the scales finally go below 200 for the first time in 3 or 4 years. I went to Walmart today and bought myself a new pair of scrubs for work and instead of getting the usual 2X I was daring and got an XL, and they fit just fine!! So progress!! I am still motivated, I just hope I can stick with it and meet my goal.

Weight Watchers...

I am finally settled in enough to start focusing on my weight loss. Today will be day 3 following the Weight Watcher's plan and so far so good. My starting weight was 215 pounds with my first goal to lose 5% and get to 204 pounds. I am so focused on the food, though. It is not going to be easy. I like too many foods that are not good for me.

New Year's Resolution

I took a three week trip to Ukraine last month, walked for miles each day, and still managed to gain 10 pounds. Since I am already overweight, this was not good news. My one big resolution this year is that I have to lose weight. Another blogger resolved to lose 5 pounds a month and that sounded like a reasonable goal to me, so that will also be my goal. 5 pounds a month. My plan right now is to enroll in Weight Watchers online as we do not live near a meeting place. As soon as I can get someone to take one, I will post my before picture. Wish me luck!
